As a personal trainer and nutritionist, my gym bag is always packed with everything I need to stay on top of my workouts, maintain my energy, and tackle any fitness challenge that comes my way! Whether I’m training a client or crushing my own fitness goals, I rely on my trusty gym bag to carry all the essentials—because who has time to be unprepared when you're constantly on the move?
Here’s a peek inside my gym bag, which is a serious powerhouse of all the things I need for a productive and successful fitness day!
Travel Duffel Bag Sports Tote Gym Bag Shoulder
First things first, my bag itself! I swear by this multi-purpose travel duffel. It’s spacious, durable, and super stylish (of course), with just the right amount of compartments for my gear. Whether I’m headed to the gym or out to meet clients, this bag fits everything I need and keeps me organized.
Wrist Lifting Straps
I know some people say using lifting straps is "cheating," but trust me, it’s far from it! My goal is muscle growth, and lifting straps are a game-changer when it comes to heavy lifting. They help me secure a better grip on the barbell and give my wrists the support they need during tough sets. The extra stability prevents unnecessary strain, which is key when I’m aiming to build strength and size. If you're powerlifting, that’s a whole different story, but for muscle growth, lifting straps are definitely an essential tool in my workout routine!
Barbell Pad
This is a total game-changer for my leg day! I love using my barbell pad for hip thrusts. It makes such a difference in comfort, especially on my hips, and helps me push through those heavy sets without any discomfort or bruising. It’s a lifesaver for protecting my body and allows me to focus on growing those glutes without worrying about soreness afterward!
Ankle Straps For Cable Machine Kickbacks
I use these ankle straps to attach to the cable machine for cable kickbacks, and they’re the perfect accessory movement to end my glute days! While cable kickbacks aren't meant to be the sole exercise for growing your glutes, they’re a fantastic finisher when paired with compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and lunges. The added resistance helps target and activate the glutes in a different way, really intensifying the workout and giving me that extra burn to help maximize growth!
Resistance Bands
Resistance bands are a staple in my gym bag, whether I’m using them for mobility work, a full-body circuit, or accessory exercises. I always have a pull-up band and a set of booty bands (ranging from light to heroic resistance) to warm up, stretch, or add extra intensity to my training. They’re great for activating muscles, enhancing flexibility, and making exercises more challenging. Plus, they’re super compact, so I can easily take them with me to squeeze in quick stretches or activation work between sets or client sessions!
Mini Foam Roller
Every personal trainer (or fitness lover) needs a foam roller, right? I swear by this mini version for quick recovery and muscle relaxation, especially after a killer leg day. It’s the perfect size to toss in my bag and use anytime I need to release tight muscles or improve flexibility.
Deodorant
I don’t think I need to explain this one—whether I’m working out or running around between clients, a quick deodorant application is non-negotiable. A fresh, clean scent always keeps me feeling confident.
Hair Clip & Hair Ties
Let’s be real: keeping your hair out of your face during a workout is ESSENTIAL. I always make sure I have a hair clip and plenty of hair ties in my bag to keep my locks in check. No one wants hair flying around during a set of squats!
Tampons
It’s a woman’s world, and I always keep tampons on hand—for myself or for my gym girlies! You never know when that time of the month will hit unexpectedly, and I’ve got everyone’s back. Life happens, and being prepared is key, especially when we’re always on the go. It’s all about looking out for each other and making sure we’re ready for whatever comes our way!
Dry Shampoo
Let’s face it, we can’t always squeeze in a post-workout shower (hello, busy schedule). That’s why dry shampoo is my saving grace! It keeps my hair looking fresh and prevents that sweaty gym hair from taking over my life.
Makeup Wipes
While I’m more of a "gym glow" kind of gal, there are moments when I need to freshen up before heading to a client meeting or grabbing lunch with friends. A couple of makeup wipes do the trick to quickly remove sweat and dirt, leaving me feeling rejuvenated without a full wash until I get home!
Extra Protein Bars
Although I prefer whole foods as my main nutrition source, sometimes life gets busy and I don't have time to prepare a meal. That’s why I always keep extra protein bars on hand for a quick snack between clients or after a workout. Right now, my go-to is IQ Bars—packed with protein, fiber, and low in sugar. They’re perfect for when I'm on the go and need something nutritious in a pinch!
AirPods Case
I keep my keys attached to the bag with my AirPods case, so I never forget them! Whether I’m jamming out to a workout playlist or just need to listen to some chill music between sets, AirPods are my lifeline. I don’t know how I would survive without them!

Personally, I don’t need one since I’m not engaged or married, but most of my clients are, and they absolutely love it. It keeps their rings safe and secure during heavy lifts or intense workouts—no more worrying about scratches or discomfort. It’s such a simple but genius solution for anyone who wants to keep their ring protected while training!
