Hocus Pocus Spellbook Brownies
Prep: 15 mins Total: 40 mins Servings: 8 servings
Ingredients
1 Box Brownie Mix
2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 1⁄4 cups Heavy Cream
1 cup Confectioner’s Sugar
2-5 tsp. Water
Directions
To start making Hocus Pocus Spellbook Brownies, first, prepare the brownies by following the instructions on the box. It's recommended to use an 8-inch or 9-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper, allowing the edges to hang over for easy removal later. Once baked, let the brownies cool in the pan for about 15 minutes to set properly.
Next, create the ganache by placing chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Heat heavy cream in the microwave, checking every 30 seconds until it starts to bubble. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let it sit for a minute before stirring until smooth and fully combined.
Now, pour the ganache over the cooled brownies in the pan, then refrigerate for one hour to allow the ganache to firm up. Once chilled, carefully lift the brownies out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut them into uniform rectangles.
For decoration, combine confectioner’s sugar with water, adding one teaspoon at a time until the icing reaches a smooth consistency that holds its shape. Mix in black food gel for color, then transfer the icing to a piping bag. Decorate each brownie with a candy eye and pipe thin stitch-like lines to mimic a spellbook, adding any extra details with an edible marker for a fun touch.
