Directions
To create spooky witch finger nail pretzels, start by gathering your ingredients.
Use a small food-safe paintbrush to apply black gel food coloring to the tops of almonds, wearing gloves if desired to avoid staining your fingers. Let them dry on waxed or parchment paper while you prepare the pretzels.
Next, break each pretzel rod in half and melt green candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Dip each pretzel rod in the melted coating, leaving the top ½ inch undipped, and place it on the lined baking sheet. Immediately press a black almond onto the tip of each dipped pretzel.
For added detail, monitor the dipped pretzels as the coating begins to dry but is still slightly tacky. Use a toothpick to create knuckle wrinkles by rolling it gently across the pretzel, making two sets of wrinkles—one near the almond and another halfway down. If the coating is too sticky, wait a bit longer before trying again.
Once all pretzels are decorated, refrigerate for 10 minutes to set the coating completely. Serve the witch fingers on a party tray or display them standing in a mason jar!
