Directions

Crumbl-style cookies inspired by Charlie Brown’s Great Pumpkin begin with preheating your oven to 350°F and preparing a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, then set aside. In a larger bowl, cream together butter and sugar using an electric mixer until smooth, then incorporate eggs and vanilla. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms, scraping the bowl's sides for even mixing.

Scoop the dough into 2 ½ to 3 tablespoon-sized balls, placing them 2 inches apart on the prepared sheet, and gently press the tops. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool on a rack.

For the chocolate ganache, combine chocolate chips in a bowl, heat heavy cream in intervals until bubbling, then pour over the chips and whisk until smooth. Chill to thicken.

To prepare the icing, gradually mix confectioner’s sugar with milk until it reaches a thick consistency, adding green food dye as desired, and transfer to a piping bag.

Once cookies are cool and ganache is set, spread ganache on each cookie, optionally topping with crushed Oreos for a dirt effect. Pipe vine swirls on top and place a candy corn pumpkin, finishing with a personalized Welcome Great Pumpkin sign!
